About the Artist
Peggy Neuman has worked as a
professional artist since 1988. In 2000, she moved from Durango,
Colorado to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she paints, creates
commissioned works of art, teaches, and exhibits.
She studied watercolor painting, briefly, with Margaret Barge
and Jim Gensheer, of Durango, and has also worked with Bertie
Stroup-Marah, Zoltan Szabo, Leo Smith, and Stephen Quiller in
1988 and 1989. Since then, Peggy has participated in numerous
juried and invitational exhibitions. Her work has been exhibited
at The Carriageworks Gallery, Termar Gallery, and Peggy Neuman
Fine Arts Studio in Durango and now in Albuquerque.
Peggy has taught in the Durango Public Schools, and now conducts
private and group lesson and workshops, for all ages, in art
skills and "Releasing Your Creative Spirit to Find the Passions
in Your Life". She has also taught (4 years) intermediate
watercolor at the Fort Lewis College Elderhostl.
Peggy works in water-based media, watercolor and acrylic,
mixed-media, and collage, using a variety of materials. She also
creates hand-made light sculptures, and hand-made books, containing
her collages and poetry.
